The enchantress calls
Earth responds with eagerness
Dark dreams dissipate
A slow surrender
The constancy of winter
Ceding place to spring
Her verdant alchemy
Turning iron skies to gold

Sue, your photos, and prose are a breath of spring. Such color… we’re still brown. 😦

Lovely, Sue. Are these photographs taken in York?

No, they were taken in Buckinghamshire a couple of springs ago… there is no green here yet on the trees.

We had more “constancy of winter” in Cumbria this weekend so I bet you did in Yorkshire. My Peron loved the second poem, especially the last two lines.

Thank you. Yes, Yorkshire and Derbyshire were being pretty ‘constant’ I have to say 😉

Lovely, Sue! We had a return of winter and while the daffodils are out, the rest of the world is still very much grey. The green in your pictures is brilliant. Can’t wait to see it back here, too.

Thanks, Katja. England is lucky to stay green most of the year… only the snows cover it for a while 🙂

And you had quite some snow for a change this year, right? I went to London just after the “beastfromtheeast” (?) had passed.. 😛
