Aflame

There is a hidden flame
I call it life, for want of wordless words
To compass mystery.

Burning every breath
From spark to ember days,
From ash to dust.

And whether I rise phoenix-like
Or must expire,
I choose a life aflame
Embracing fire.

For the dVerse Quadrille, a weekly challenge in 44 words.
