My eyesight may not be all it once was, but even from a distance, the sheep in the field looked a bit odd. We have found many strange and wonderful things in and around the village of Birchover, but they are usually shaped of wood or stone. Curious, I stopped the car and grabbed the camera…
…not in the least expecting to find a mob of emus in the middle of Derbyshire. They, it seemed, were as curious about us as we were about them…although when it was established that we had not come bearing edible gifts, their curiosity began to wane. Not before we’d had chance to meet some unexpected villagers, though.
What a discovery!

That “thing” in the first picture really looks like a very odd sheep. 😀

It does…especially from a distance 🙂

I love when the universe throws the odd, unexpected or absurd into your path. Great pictures too, by the way.

So do I 🙂 And thanks.

I love the discovery itself, Sue; but I equally enjoy discovering what these many images and stories reveal about you. You seem to always follow your natural curiosity, and that is just as rare as a mob of emus in Derbyshire (if not more so).

If the day is going to offer gifts, it would be churlish to refuse them, Erik 🙂

That’s funny. I thought he was awfully white for a real sheep. What could it be but a heap of feathers?

We do get whiter sheep than that… but he did make us stop and look closer 🙂
