Shivers in the winter chill
Far from the hearthfire
Those who wander find themselves
Following their own footprints

In muffled silence
Virginal beauty unveils
A verdant treasure
An ever-present promise
Hidden by a frozen pall

Cold winter’s thrall
Softly obliterated
Heart to heart calling
Between waking and slumber
In the embrace of the sun

The photo for this week’s prompt was taken in Cumbria, on a day when lunacy got the upper hand and I took the little sports car that was my pride and joy back then, out to play in the snowy hills of the wild heart of England.
