Christmas with the small dog…

Santa came! With loads of chickeny treats and balls… and a big, long furry snake that squeaks everywhere! I learned what it was called in three goes too! Then we had a walk in the dark, and that’s always fun ’cause there are creatures out there to ‘vestigate… Then she started doing really interesting things in the kitchen with the turkey and  sausages and bacon and stuff…

And just when I thought breakfast was going to be turkey… she disappeared! She went to see her grandpups, though, so that was okay… she’s allowed a bit of magic at Christmas too…

“Can I turn her into a pumpkin?”

“??!!”

“I love her really…”

She seemed to have had a happy morning. Her grandpups always make her smile.

Then, when she came back… she brought me one of my boys! With all the cooking that had been going on, I knew he wasn’t going anywhere for a while too. We played loads... until she finished making dinner. I got lots of goodies then! Pity about the music though. My boy put some Christmas carols on while we all ate… and she sang to them all. At least, that’s what she calls it. She says dinner seemed to go down well though…

It was all going well. Then… she let me down. She got the red, furry antlers out…the ones she’d promised I wouldn’t have to wear. She said someone would have to wear them. But it seemed I might have misjudged her…

Trouble is, she’s sneaky. She kept her promise… I didn’t have to wear the furry antlers. But she must have read my poem… the one where I said not to tell her I might have worn them if they looked like real antlers…

The picture was a bit weird though… Still, it made them both laugh, so that was okay. Mind you, I reckoned I deserved some serious playtime for that. Even though I have to be really careful with that snake ’cause it squeaks a lot. So…I had a good Christmas… and there’s still loads of turkey left. Far too much for her to eat on her own 😉

Much love,

Ani xxx

What a wonderful Christmas, Ani. Food, no silly antlers, squeaky toys, and lots of play time. I bet you slept last night.

  5. Hi Ani. I’m glad you had such a great Christmas. I did too. There were balls and treats, and… It was all so exciting! I was so tired after all of it that I slept for hours and hours. I never did spot that Santa Paws guy though… Lots of licks, Lilie

I´m glad you had a good Christmas, Ani! I love your snake but dad would have to take out the squeaky things. I got a monkey, squeakers removed, and I love it. I got to run on the beach and play with other dogs on Christmas day, then I got turkey too. Then we had more turkey on boxing day and today. I´m in heaven! Those grandpups are so cute. Enjoy your snake and the rest of the turkey. Thanks for letting me be on your blog. Love, Dot.

Hey Dot, I’m being careful of the snake’s squeakers…they are really big and loud. But the turkey is wonderful…and all the other goodies she is feeding me.
I’m glad you could come over… you and your two-legs are welcome any time here 😉 xx

So glad you had a good Christmas, Ani. That snake is a real prize, how long before you get the squeakers out? 😉 Nick looks pretty good in those antlers and the real ones look natural on you. 🙂
Your granddaughters are gorgeous, Sue – the youngest shows a strong family resemblence. 🙂
