Notes from a small dog: Karma

My two-legs has broke down again,
Or maybe she’s still broke,
I think she’s cute with hamster cheeks…
She says its not a joke.

Her eyes have gone all squiffy
So she cannot see to write,
She’s curled up on my sofa
More than she’s in bed at night.

I wondered why she looked so odd,
But worked it out, you see…
It’s not her health that’s playing up,
It’s all because of me!

I’ll tell you why she’s been laid low,
It’s cause she made a threat
To wash me with the smelly stuff
And get me soaking wet.

She does it periodically,
Although I squirm and cry,
And though, in spite of all she does,
I mostly end up dry.

She says I really need a bath
Because I’m getting whiffy,
You’d think that she’d have learned by now,
But then, her logic’s iffy.

And so I closed my eyes and wished
That we’d not have to do it,
That something would come up
So that she wouldn’t put me through it…

The trouble is, that now it has,
It means no walks or playing,
Perhaps I should have thought it through
Before I started praying…

Not a kind way to get out of having a bath Ani. When you get a bit whiffy you should give in gracefully, it never lasts for long and you’re soon dry and sweet smelling again. Huggable even.

  5. Hope you feel better Sue, perhaps Ani should suggest some other methods of making her smell sweet instead of the bath.

I will never understand this problem you have about having a bath, Ani. Or is it that the water involved is indoors?

There you go, Ani, you should know to be careful what you wish for. My sister’s four legs thinks fox poo is the most delicious aroma ever, especially when she manages to get it in that special place just on her neck. Hope Sue feels better soon.

  9. That’s terrible! I hope your human doesn’t stay broken for long, and you can get walkies and play time again soon. Maybe she’ll forget about the bath with being broken? I’ll cross my paws for you. I had no walkies for what felt like forever recently, because the humans took me to the vet place to find a spade. I’m not sure if they found one, but I came home wearing an awful cone and with a sore tummy, and not allowed to go walkies. On the bright side, I also wasn’t allowed to have a bath, so I got to stay smelling like a real dog. Lots of licks, Lilie

Ani, a wise two-legs long ago said, “Be careful what you wish for. You might get it.” But, I know you didn’t mean for anything bad to happen to her. So, if you have to wish for no bath, try to be more specific, like that there won’t be enough smelly stuff left in the bottle.

  19. Ani seems concerned even if she’s not sure what the problem is. Of course, it also concerns her. I hope you’re feeling somewhat better, Sue. —- Suzanne

Dead fish is a great perfume Ani, a dog has to smell so make it worthwhile if you are getting a bath.

  22. I hope you’re feeling better, Sue? Did Ani’s super poem make you feel any better? I went and got my flu jab yesterday after hearing about the flu bug that hit Austrailia during their winter.
    Hugs to you both
