Sere winter blushes

Ancient wood wears fairytales

Springs lightly to life

Hope renewed as dark days pass

Buried in confetti clouds

Colleen’s tanka challenge

Sue Vincent was a Yorkshire born writer, esoteric teacher and a Director of The Silent Eye. She was immersed in the Mysteries all her life. Sue maintained a popular blog and is co-author of The Mystical Hexagram with Dr G.M.Vasey. Sue lived in Buckinghamshire, having been stranded there due to an accident with a blindfold, a pin and a map. She had a lasting love-affair with the landscape of Albion, the hidden country of the heart. Sue  passed into spirit at the end of March 2021.

    Sue, I love your use of the word ‘sere.’ I looked it up and love how the choice of just that one word changed the meaning of your Tanka. Your photos emphasize the imagery in my mind. Excellent. ❤

    Confetti clouds! Fabulous and gorgeous. We are frozen in early spring with temps in the 30s. The upside is that the cherry blossoms haven’t dropped!

    Simply lovely poem. Did you take the photos or find them? It is obviously Spring somewhere! In spite of all our rain and cloudy skies lately, St. Patrick’s Day, today, is demonstrating spring in Texas.
