The photo for this week’s prompt, in spite of the sinister turn many of the responses took, was taken during a convivial evening in the George and Pilgrim in Glastonbury, looking out onto the High Street. The inn was purpose-built in th late 1400s as a coaching inn to accomodate those coming to visit the Abbey. It is the oldest such place in the area and still retains many of its original features. It is also haunted… some say the ghost of Abbot Whiting still walks there…
More wonderful entries this week. Thank you to everyone who took part. Please click on the links below to visit all the posts and leave a comment for the author! A new prompt will be published later today and I will reblog as many as I can as the entries come in… but given the volume of entries we are getting now, that may not be all of them. All contributions will be featured in the round-up on Thursday
The vagaries of WordPress mean that occasionally a pingback won’t get through. If you have written a piece for this week’s challenge and it does not appear below, please leave a link in the comments and I will add it to the list.
Come and join in!
Lantern
Memories like ghosts
Walk the silent corridors
In unquiet minds
Regret haunts the unwary
Sorrow for what might have been
Memories like ghosts
Run laughing through the lamp light
Chasing their rainbows
Casting their coloured shadows
Illuminating a smile
Memories like ghosts
Hovering enticingly
At the edge of night
Remember both dark and light
Of a life lived in colour
