The proud hobbit, or why am I quiet today?

I have a good excuse.
You might expect me to me writing about the weekend… and I will. You could, justifiably, expect me to be promoting the newly published Scions of Albion… and of course, I should.
Instead, however, I have been out since first thing this morning, not getting home till this evening and still have the day’s work to begin.
So what, you might ask, have I been up to?
Instead of my usual day, I took my son to London.
I do not particularly like driving in London. Especially when the sun is broiling me through the windscreen.
I argued with his GPS system all the way. No matter how cultured the voice, I will not go left if the road I need goes right, nor reroute through narrow backstreets to save three minutes… not am I prepared to do a ‘U’ turn on a motorway slip-road because the sat-nav thinks it knows best.
But tonight it was all worth it.
We had been down to have the final adjustments done on his new wheels… wheels that were finally delivered to his door an hour after I had left.
You may have read my son’s story over the weekend… this year Independence Day means even more than usual.
My son called me from the middle of a field, where he and his wheels were enjoying the sunset.
And sometimes a picture really is worth more than words…

That’s one cool set of wheels – another independence day for Nick! So the mother in me wants to know where is the bike helmet? I think a flag would alert motorists as well. Sorry, Nick, I am first and foremost, a mother! 😉
