Photo prompt round-up – Haven- #writephoto

Haven

*

In warmth and welcome
Weary travellers seek rest
Sheltered from the storm
Ancient walls of mellow stone
Offering security

*

Sunset lights the sky
A final blaze precedes night
Promising the dawn
Nature’s assurance of hope
Darkness engulfs the shadows

*

Night’s pathway is dark
The lost and weary falter
Seeking salvation
A point of light to guide them
Hope their comfort and haven

*

The photo for this week’s prompt was again taken at Ilkley in the very same car-park  as the photo for last week’s challenge. This time, however, it was a January trip, when the moors were cold, wet and bare, the bracken and heather no longer form a dense barrier and the moors reveal their secrets…if you can actually find them… Although we failed to find what we were looking for on the moors, we did manage a side trip to an old church at nearby Addingham, where we found some fabulous carved stone, both ancient and modern.

As always, I would like to thank  everyone for their contibutions. I love seeing how many different stories and poems can be born from one image. I did not get chance to reblog as many as I would have liked this week, but all the posts are listed below, please click on the links below to read them and leave a comment for the author! A new prompt will be published later today and I will reblog as many as I can through the week  and all contributions will be featured in the round-up on Thursday.

If you have written a post for this challenge and it does not appear in the round-up, please leave a link to your post in the comments and I will add it to the list.

Come and join in!
